Welcome! I am Stephanie Groth and I am looking forward to teaching your student
this school year! I am a 2007 graduate of Fort Hays State University and have a
Bachelor's Degree in Sociology. In 2009, I received my teaching certification from
Southwestern College.  I met my goal of completing my graduate degree in
December 2016.  I earned my Master's degree in Secondary Adaptive
Special Education from Emporia State University.

I began teaching second grade at Altoona Elementary in 2010. Previously,  I taught 6th-9th Math at Midway. I then helped to start an intermediate program at Midway, and taught 5th & 6th grade Math & Science.

My husband, Philip, and I live in Independence.  We have two children, a daughter, Whitley- age 24; she is a graudate student at Pittsburg State University, majoring in Vocal Performance & Conducting. Whitley married her best friend Alex in December 2018.  He will complete his undergrad in Vocal Performance in May 2019. Our son, Jacob is 21.  Jacob is working on his EMT certification at ICC and works full-time at Auto Zone.  We have 3 dogs; Sandy, 16, Benny 14, and Hudson 3.

When I am not teaching I enjoy singing, playing the flute and the piano. I love to scuba dive and enjoy camping with my family and friends.  Technology intrigues me and I enjoy trying to utilize it within the classroom.
